Sora Nakagawa

PERSONALITY Sora is a rather unassuming school student. He doesn’t feel like there is anything all that remarkable about him, despite him having magic and also being a detective. He gets good grades in his studies and he has a few friends, but he isn’t someone that is popular around the school. Honestly he feels like that is sort of for the better, as he runs less of a risk about anyone finding out about his magic. He likes mystery novels, for obvious reasons. And he’s very inquisitive and likes figuring out puzzles and general solving things. Though he likes mystery novels, he often figures out the ending well before the end of the book. He’s pretty friendly, but also maybe a bit reserved and timid at times. A passion of his is photography. He has a digital camera that he mostly always has with him, despite having a good camera on his phone. He feels like he gets better shots on a digital camera and can line things up better. It also comes in handy if he’s being employed as a Detective because he can use it to photograph things of importance. The camera he uses has been infused with magic as well, though he keeps that part a secret for obvious reasons. It is something he figured out how to do after studying magic with his Grandmother for as long as he did.

ABOUT Sora appears to be just your every day College student. Looking at him, there probably doesn’t seem to be anything particularly remarkable about him. But in truth, he is a Mage. In his world, no one really believes Magic exists. Those that do have it go through great lengths to keep it secret. It has been instilled in Sora at a young age that this is a secret he has to keep. His Grandmother is a magic user and she is the one who he inherited it from. His Mother and Father, though not magic users themselves, know about the existence of magic. Sora learned everything he knows about magic from his Grandmother. But that isn’t the only thing in his life that makes him an oddity. Sora is also a practicing Detective. His Mother herself is a Detective and she met his Father through her work. With Sora being so inquisitive at a young age, grew interested in his Mom’s work and ended up learning just as much from her as he learned from his Grandmother. He’s been able to become an incredibly good Detective, owed in no small part to his abilities in magic as well. He doesn’t take many cases, though, since he is still a student and does have at least two clubs that he’s part of for after school activities. ABILITIES Sora is a modern day Mage. He can apply his magic to effect the world or even conjure up certain things. Some spells he cast might require components or a medium to be more effective or shorten the casting time. Though the more he has practiced a particular spell, the easier and quicker it is for him to use it again. If necessary, he can use combat magic but he prefers not to resolve things with fighting. If he thinks that fighting or combat might happen, he would take precautions or preplan methods of defense in order to deal with situations that he thinks could plausibly arise.
